Clear Creek Canyon Trail
Jefferson County, Colorado

LORIS is providing consultation, and design for the planned 12-mile Clear Creek Canyon Trail that will parallel SH 6 west of Golden to SH 119. Jefferson County intends to construct a 10-ft. wide, predominately concrete path through the entire corridor. The exceedingly challenging terrain and constraints will require several bridges and extensive retaining walls. LORIS provided structural and trail design consultation to Wenk Associates in preparation of the feasibility study for the proposed path in this challenging mountain corridor. Upon completion of the feasibility study, LORIS provided conceptual design and alignment selection assistance for the first phase of the project from Golden to tunnel #1 (approximately 1 mile) and final structural design and detailing for a 212-ft. span trail bridge and retaining walls in Grant Terry Park.
