Two Rivers Greenway Master Plan 3rd Avenue Entryway |
Projects - Infrastructures
3rd Avenue Entryway
LORIS provided complete engineering services as a subconsultant to Wenk Associates for 1.8 miles of multi-use path along 3rd Avenue. The purpose of this project was to enhance off-street transportation and beautify the corridor. LORIS' work included design of a separated multi-use path from Martin Street to Ken Pratt Boulevard. The path was designed to be compatible with the existing drainage patterns of 3rd Avenue and to minimize impacts to the site while also providing the best possible drainage for the path. Modification of an existing vehicular bridge was required to safely carry the path over the Great Western Railway. The contract documents for this project included several bid alternatives to maximize use of the project budget. The project was funded jointly by the City of Longmont and with federal funds acquired through the T21 program.
