Burlingame Trail |
Projects - Infrastructures
Burlingame Trail
This new 0.8-mile trail skirts the Maroon Creek Golf Course, starting at Harmony Road and ending at SH Highway 82. It connects the ABC (Aspen Business Center) Trail to the new Burlingame residential community. The trail is an 8-ft. wide asphalt path adjacent to Stage Road and Relay Road. The path was designed to avoid a large utility vault while also honoring minimal encroachment onto the Maroon Creek Golf Course. Other challenges included proper handling of roadway and off-site drainage to minimize impacts to surrounding properties. Two large walls were constructed at Tee Box #4 in order to maintain the existing grade of the tee box and to allow for the golf-cart path and trail to coexist within a tight corridor. The trail design also included three boulder walls that limit encroachment onto adjacent properties. The client required a compressed schedule and close coordination to incorporate the path construction with other site improvements that were already underway.
Client: City of Aspen
