C Lazy U Ranch

The prestigiously rated C Lazy U Guest Ranch overlooks the pristine Willow Creek Valley to the Indian Peaks.  LORIS was retained by the ranch owners to study and delineate a 100 year flood plain for Willow Creek as part of the development of exclusive 35-acre home sites.  The Ranch property is located north of Granby, Colorado.

LORIS performed both hydrology and hydraulics in establishing flood plain conditions and acceptable building envelope locations.  This study will be used in the future to design acceptable bridge crossings of the creek.  In addition, the work will provide the owner with floodplain mapping in compliance with the standards of the National Flood Insurance Program administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  LORIS used the latest floodplain modeling technology - HEC-RAS - to determine the floodplain limits and depths.
