Cherrywood Elementary

LORIS provided civil engineering design services for this new 63,000 sq. ft. school, located on approximately seven acres within a 13-acre neighborhood park. In addition, a regional stormwater detention pond had previously been constructed on the site.

LORIS engineers worked closely with the School District, the building architects (Christiansen Reece Architects), and the City of Thornton to coordinate the overall design of the site. The resulting design achieves the desired, but somewhat difficult, objectives of providing a site design that meets the needs of the different users.
