Projects - Structures
Valmont Park/ Boulder, Colorado These projects depict LORIS'' design of ancillary structures that are a part of identity or larger projects. The City of Boulder and the University of Colorado wanted to recognize Olympic Champion Frank Shorter's tremendous impact on his hometown of Boulder. A statue of Frank Shorter was to be located where runners enter Folsom Stadium near the end of the Bolder Boulder 10 k race. Landscape architect, Design Concepts, commissioned LORIS to design the statue's plinth and foundation. At Valmont Park in east Boulder, LORIS provided structural design for several features including aesthetic details for a concrete box culvert; two low water crossings; abutments for prefabricated pedestrian bridges; foundations for restrooms and a stone entrance sign. The entrance sign foundation was designed with cost and longevity in mind. |
