LORIS performed structural design of floodwalls to protect Denver neighborhoods from S. Platte River floods. Because of poor subgrade conditions, the walls were designed using drilled caissons as the primary structural element. Stem walls spanned between caissons. The walls were designed to Army Corps of Engineers and FEMA standards and fit unobtrusively into the newly developed river park corridor.
