LORIS performed structural engineering for the renovation of this historic landmark structure along Main Street in downtown Aspen.

Notable challenges include adding a story to the bulk of the structure; the addition of a basement adjacent to existing foundations in the courtyard; and strict building height limitations. The roof of the third level additions are all "stick framed" for a vaulted ceiling matching the existing structure. The design is heavily influenced by the existing structure and sightlines from the adjacent streets.
