Broadmoor Golf Starter Pavilion Horizon High School Gymnasium Addition

Projects
- Structures
Horizon High School Gymnasium Addition, H + L Architecture LORIS provided full structural engineering and civil engineering services for this $3 million addition to the High School's athletic facilities. The project added a new gymnasium, large weight-lifting room, and administrative space for the athletic facility staff. A new entrance incorporates a Hall of Fame Lobby showcasing the school's athletic achievements. Because the available site was land-locked by road access on three perimeters, it was necessary to build the addition as close to the existing gymnasium building as possible. LORIS' structural solution utilized the existing building's outer masonry wall for lateral stability of the new gymnasium. The gymnasium's roof design features three, 120' long steel trusses spanning the long direction to prevent transference of vertical loads onto the existing wall and foundations. LORIS also provided structural
engineering services for a new orchestra pit cover in the auditorium of
the High School, and has recently conceived a scheme design for extending
the balcony in the same auditorium.
