Projects - Structures
Cherry Hills Residence Frasier & Stokes Architects LORIS performed structural engineering services when this 27,000 square foot home was designed in 1990. LORIS was retained for an extensive remodel of the property which entailed major demolition and rebuilding fo the steel-framed house to incorporate a new two-story entry/dining/library central area. LORIS also designed a new 17,000 square foot, two-level swimming pool terrace with an outer lap pool which discharged over a vanishing edge, cascaded down three levels of Hyphen waterfalls, and fed a Roman-Bath style basement swimming pool. Sitting on a rare nine-acre lot, the steel-framed house with stone veneer elevations features several large "pods" that required moment resisting gable frames. The pool terrace is a two-story, cast-in-place concrete frame with stone veneer elevations. |
