Projects - Structures
901-909 Front Street Hartronft-Fauri Architects This mixed-use commercial office and retail development is located in Old Town Louisville. The west end of the mostly three-story structure features a basement and a fourth story within the mansard roof structure. The building has stepping facades consisting of brick and stucco elements, and every elevation includes numerous window and door penetrations. To suit tenant finish requirements, each floor plan is different, including interior stair and restroom locations. LORIS designed a steel-framed structure to accommodate this flexible architecture, and achieved lateral stability through a series of building perimeter rigid steel frames. Height limitations for the building required an intricate shallow roof structure behind the mansards at the east end of the building. The project has a bridge link at second level and a tunnel connection at basement level to 917 Front St to the north. Construction is in progress.
