Projects - Structures
Longmont Museum LORIS provided full structural engineering services for the new, 22,000 square foot, $3.2 million museum and cultural center. The building is located on the south side of Longmont just east of US 287. The structure is a braced steel frame with brick and stone veneered elevations. The second floor is designed for a live load of 250 pounds per square foot for stored archive materials. The tower entry lobby is a three story, exposed tubular steel structure with fully welded column to beam connections to provide laterally rigidity. For efficiency, and also for aesthetic appeal, LORIS proposed a tension rod supported second floor and roof structure for the tower. Client: OZ Architecture
