Ford Architects Complete structural engineering for $10.5 million of additions and renovations to the High School, Middle School and Butler Elementary School. The project includes a new double gymnasium which incoporates steel tubular, bow-string trusses spanning 95 feet at 16 feet on center, with a deep acoustic steel roof deck. Another notable structural feature is the gymnasium entry vestibule, which has a curved barrel-vault roof composed of exposed steel tied arched tubes with stainless steel tie rods. The Elementary School's library addition is fan-shaped in plan with radially positioned, exposed steel tubular trusses that taper in elevation to enhance the architectural effect of the space.
